It is located beneath the Church of the Holy Apostles in Boikatika Magazia, across from the steep cliffs of the Hermit. It is a source of fresh water supplied by the mountain, filling a square reservoir, which has two large arches at the top. Excess water flows into the sea. Maintenance work was carried out in 1852 by the chief mason, Yiannis Vlachopoulos. In 1930, a path was constructed for easier access by the residents of the Magazia area.
It is reported that in 1807, during the French occupation, those who polluted the water of the well were sentenced to pay a fine of ten talers for the construction of public roads.
Nearby, the ruins of another reservoir are preserved, known as "Makilla," which is likely attributed to the Scottish engineer who built it, Mac Killan.
