It is mentioned in the first catalog of the churches of Paxos in the year 1686. It is located in the channel between Mongonisi and Kaltsionisi.
Previously, monks/nuns resided there: Ignatios Vellianitis (1810-16), Spiridon-Savvas Manesis from Lefkimi (died in 1844), the nun Chronia Athan. Tranaka (died in 1842), and the hieromonk Father Spiridon-Symeon Anast. Anemogiannis was buried there on June 20, 1842.
